Swapping Little Louie

I finished up several items for a baby swap and wanted to share them! I've very proud of them and learned a lot working with knits. I really hadn't done much with knits before but I'm glad I finally jumped in and really enjoyed sewing with them.

First up is a 12-24mo. outfit made from the NCBE pattern(New Conceptions Baby Essentials). I only wished I had tackled knits when my daughter was smaller. This pattern went together so easy and simple.

Next up is a pair of dark brown knit pants with a rtw shirt that I did my first reverse applique on. I wanted to start with something simple which is why I did the heart, I am definitely going to try this again soon with something more detailed. The only thing I need is a new sharp pair of scissors to make the cutting easier.

And lastly is a trio of Little Louie's made from a pattern from Bit of Whimsy Dolls . I just love this pattern! He/she is soooo cute! I need to make another one immediately for my daughter as she was keeping an eye on these. She stole one off the table and looked at it and started giggling! My husband said they were cute but he also said they they looked like a trio of little bowling pins!

I hope the recipients of these items enjoy them!

Goodbye our sweet Cleo

Goodbye Sweet Cleo... we love you and we miss you... we'll see you again someday...

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Time for a new post!!

I put my first non pet item up on Etsy recently and I'd like to share it with you! I just love how it turned out. It was a lot of work but I just love it!

This was made from a pattern I bought at You Can Make This!

Note to self: Become a better blogger and finish what you started!

I thought blogging would be fun, but we've had a busy summer... so I am going to finish what I started...

My previous post was a blog challenge called Summer in Ten, since it still feels like summer here I'm going to recap our summer...

What says summer more than digging in the sand on the beach?

Trampoline fun on the 4th of July

Yummy...

What's summer without the county fair?

Pool time fun, with a care bear of course!

Even dogs like to swim in the summer!

Growing fresh peas for the 1st time... and learning when to pick them(this one was too early)

Watching the 4th of July parade through a baby's eyes...

Summer Blog Challenge: 1 & 2 of 10

Inspired by the Sewing for Cherubs blog I'm going to participate in her "Summer in Ten" Blog Challenge to celebrate summer! Depending on how shutter happy I get I might end up with more than 10 photos!

I live in an area that has a lot of seasonal activities as well as seasonal residents and there are many images that you can only get in the summer!

I think these 3 mallards were contemplating if they should jump in the water or not. As I was taking pictures and watching them they were quacking back and forth standing right on the edge of the sidewalk. "Should we get in?" "I don't know, do you want to?" "What about you, do you want to get in?"

As you can see, they never did get in! I don't think the water was warm enough today!

Update on the stamp line

I've been asked lately about how the stamp line is coming along. I have the details worked out with the manufacturer and have 11 sets that are ready that I could send to the manufacturer today. 6 more sets are in the process and TONS more singles are done.

I'm just waiting on the financial okay from my husband! To be honest we have had a couple ventures that didn't go as planned in the past so we are planning everything, crossing all of our T's and dotting our I's! And we both feel like we are more stable, and much wiser this time around and we're dealing with something very familiar. We have a firm business plan set out in black and white.

Drawing isn't new to me, it's the 1 thing that has been a constant in my life. I remember grade school teachers telling me they weren't surprised to hear I was in art classes in high school and college since I've loved to draw since preschool! I truly honestly feel like this is something I've been working for my whole life. I have sketchbook after sketchbook that I could go back to and pull a drawing out of to create into a stamp.

New Drawings

I'm still working on my stamp drawings. I have 11 complete sets and tons more drawings that need more to finish the set as well as lots of new ideas!

This sheep is from a stick farm animal set:

And this birdie is all alone right now, not sure if I will leave it as a single or incorporate it into a set:
